IEEE CIT2017 conference is the 17th edition of thehighly successful International Conference on Computer and InformationTechnology (CIT) previously held as CIT2016 (Fiji, December 2016), CIT2015(Liverpool, UK, October, 2015), CIT2014 (Xi’an, China, September 2014), CIT2013(Sydney, Australia, December 2013), CIT2012 (Chengdu, China, October 2012),CIT2011 (Pafos, Cyprus, August 2011), CIT2010 (Bradford, UK, June 2010),CIT2009 (Xiamen, China, October 2009), CIT2008 (Sydney, Australia, July 2008),CIT2007 (Fukushima, Japan, October 2007), CIT2006 (Seoul, Korea, September2006), CIT2005 (Shanghai, China, September 2005), CIT2004 (Wuhan, China,September 2004), CIT2002 (Fukusima, Japan, September 2002), CIT2001 (Shanghai,China, September 2001), and CIT2000 (Fukusima, Japan, November 2000). Itprovides a forum for engineers and scientists in academia, industry, andgovernment to address the resulting profound challenges and to present anddiscuss their new ideas, research results, applications and experiences on allaspects of computer and information technology.

ICA3PP 2017is the 17th in this series of conferences started in 1995 that are devoted toalgorithms and architectures for parallel processing. ICA3PP is now recognizedas the main regular event of the world that is covering the many dimensions ofparallel algorithms and architectures, encompassing fundamental theoreticalapproaches, practical experimental projects, and commercial components andsystems. As applications of computing systems have permeated in every aspect ofdaily life, the power of computing system has become increasingly critical. This conference provides a forum for academics and practitioners from countriesaround the world to exchange ideas for improving the efficiency, performance, reliability, security and interoperability of computing systems andapplications.ICA3PP 2017 was the next event in a series of highly successfulinternational conferences on algorithms and architectures for parallelprocessing, previously held as ICA3PP 2016 (Granada, Spain, December 2016),ICA3PP 2015 (Zhangjiajie, China, November 2015), ICA3PP 2014 (Dalian, China,August 2014), ICA3PP 2013 (Vietrisul Mare, Italy, December 2013), ICA3PP 2012(Fukuoka, Japan, September 2012), ICA3PP 2011 (Melbourne, Australia, October2011), ICA3PP 2010 (Busan, Korea, May 2010), ICA3PP 2009 (Taipei, Taiwan, June2009), ICA3PP 2008 (Cyprus, June 2008), ICA3PP 2007 (Hangzhou, China, June2007), ICA3PP 2005 (Melbourne, Australia, October 2005), ICA3PP 2002 (Beijing,China, October 2002), ICA3PP 2000 (Hong Kong, China, December 2000), ICA3PP1997 (Melbourne, Australia, December 1997), ICA3PP 1996 (Singapore, June 1996),and ICA3PP 1995 (Brisbane, Australia, April 1995).

The NSSconference series is an established forum that brings together researchers andpractitioners to provide a confluence of network and system securitytechnologies, including all theoretical and practical aspects. In previousyears, NSS took place in Taipei (2016), New York City, USA (2015), Xi'an, China(2014), Madrid, Spain (2013), Wu Yi Shan, China (2012), Milan, Italy (2011),Melbourne, Australia; (2010), Gold Coast, Australia (2009), Shanghai, China(2008), and Dalian, China (2007).

Besides the three main conferences the jointconference has a total of 10 Workshops, 8 keynote speeches by prominentscientists, two tutorials and a Panel discussion. Having reviewedthe submitted papers on thebasis of their significance, novelty, technical quality, presentation, and practical impact, the Program Committeesaccepteda total of 180 papersto the technical sessions and workshops for presentation. The acceptance rateto the main conferences was from 28% to 29%. The papers cover topicsranging from security, privacy, big data, mobile networks and communication, 5thGeneration mobile systems, algorithms and architectures for parallel processingand other topics in computer and information technology. The Proceedings ofIEEE CIT will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Publishing Services(CPS). The Proceedings of ICA3PP and NSS will be published in the Lecture Notesin Computer Science (LNCS) by Springer.

Two of the workshops, namelyIEEE International Workshop on Secure and Resource-Efficient EdgeComputing 2017(SecureEdge 2017) andThe IEEE International Symposium on Recent Advances of Computer andInformation Technologies(RACIT 2017) are inconjunction with IEEE CIT 2017.

Four of theworkshops are in conjunction with ICA3PP 2017: the 4th International Workshopon Data, Text, Web, and Social Network Mining (DTWSM 2017), the 5thInternational Workshop on Parallelism in Bioinformatics (PBio 2017), the FirstInternational Workshop on Distributed Autonomous Computing in Smart City (DACSC2017), and the 2nd International Workshop on Ultrascale Computing for EarlyResearchers(UCER 2017).
